1. Eliminate the pump sumps, control and shut off valves, level instrumentation and associated heaters.
    2. Reduce heat loss.
    3. Allow the steam generator system to drain directly into the tanks.
    4. Sandia National Laboratories teamed with Nagle Pumps to develop a long-shafted salt pump as part of the DOE Concentrating Solar Power Program.
