Charge of molten salt system
Molten Salts TES processes have three main steps, charge storage and discharge. In operation charge and discharge were not able to be simultaneous, and the whole process was considered to be cyclic.
With enough solar radiation and with the parabolic trough solar collectors in solar tracking, the solar field HTF outlet temperature is 393 C. This HTF (thermal oil) exchanged its energy with the molten salts in the heat exchanger. During this process, the salts flowed from the cold tank through the heat exchanger arriving at the hot tank approx. at 388C.
