Basic structure of molten salt pump

    The basic structure of the molten salt pump is composed of six parts. They are impeller, pump body, pump shaft, bearing, sliding bearing and stuffing box.
    1. The impeller is the core part of molten salt pump. The force of the speed is high. Blade of the impeller blade plays a major role. Impeller needs to adopt the static equilibrium experiments before it is rigged out. The inside and outside surface of impeller should be smooth to reduce the friction’s loss of the Warwick high temperature molten salt.
    2. The pump body is also known as pump shell, which is the main body of the pump. It plays a supporting role and it connected with the bracket of the bearing that it is installed.
    3. The role of the pump shaft is connected with the motor by the coupling. The torque of the motor will be transferred to the impeller. Because of this, it is the main component of the transferring mechanical energy.
    4. The bearing is a component to support the pump shaft that the bearing is installed on the pump shaft. There are two kinds of rolling bearings and sliding bearings. Rolling bearings uses grease as a lubricant. Sliding bearing uses the transparent oil as a lubricant.
    5. The sealing ring is also known as leakage reduction ring. There is a gap between the impeller inlet and pump shell. If the gap is too large, it would cause that high pressure area water flows area of low pressure through the gap. If so, it would affect water and reduce efficiency! If the gap is too small, it would cause that it produces the friction between the impeller and the pump shell. In order to increase the flow resistance, reduce internal leakage and delay the service life of the impeller and the pump shell, we should install the sealing ring in the pump shell edge and foreign aid junction. The gap of sealing the gap suitably remains between 0.25 ~ 1.10mm.
    6. Stuffing is composed of the filler, filler tube, packing gland and seal tubes. Stuffing is mainly to be closed the gap between pump shell and a pump shaft. And it does not make pump the water flow to the outside and also don't make the outside air into the pump. When the pump shaft and packing friction heat, it depends on water seal pipe to cool down the filler! If so, it can keep the pump normal operation. So stuffing needs to specially check in the operation of the pump inspection tour. You should change the filler every 600 hours.
