Selection of the volume type pump
There are a lot situations of chemical production that the situations require to use the volumetric pumps, selection of the volumetric pump needs to consider the following aspects:
(1).The determination of the rated flow Q and rated outlet pressure for process requirements.
Rated flow Q generally uses the maximum flow, such as the lack of maximum flow value, it should take the normal flow of 1.1 ~ 1.15 times.Rated outlet pressure P refers to the maximum pressure value that the pump outlet may occur.
(2) the flow rate [Q] and pressure [P] by checking the sample or technical data of the volumetric pump
Flow [Q] refers to the maximum flow that the volumetric pump outputs. It can be adjusted by bypass and change the process to achieve the flow of the process requirements. The pressure [P] refers to the maximum pressure of the outlet pressure.
(3) the criteria of selecting type
Meet the following conditions is tentatively identified as the model of pump. Flow rate q is less than or equal to Q. And Q is closer to Q, it is more reasonable; If the pressure P is less than or equal to P, it is closer [P] and it is more reasonable.
(4) checking the cavitation allowance of the pump
The cavitation allowance NPSHr that the pump requires is less than the cavitation allowance of the device. If it does not conform with the requirements, you should reduce mounting height of the pump to improve the NPSHa. You also can put a request to the pump factory to reduce the NPSHr value. At the same time, you can use the two methods. It eventually makes that the NPSHr is less than NPSHa. It is the safe quantity S.
When it is not only in line with the above conditions, we should consider to select the pump of high efficiency, low cost and high reliability.
