Selecting the type of pump

    The type of pump should be based on the technology parameters, conveying medium of the physical and chemical properties, operating cycle, the pump's structure characteristics and other factors of the device to make a reasonable choice. Figure 2-2 is used to select the type of pump. And it is a reference for selection. It can be initially identified the type of pump that it is in line with the device parameters and the dielectric properties to select. Centrifugal pump has advantage of the simple structure, no pulse infusion, simple flow regulation and so on. Therefore you should try your best to select the centrifugal pump except the following situations.

    (1) when it has the requirements of the measurement, you should select to use metering pumps.
    (2) The requirements of the head are very high, flow is very small and not suitable for small flow. When the centrifugal pump of the high pump can be selected, you can choose reciprocating pump, such as cavitation requirements are not high, you can also use the vortex pump
    (3) If the head is very low and the flow is very large, you can choose the axial flow pump and mixed flow pump.
    (4) When the medium viscosity is larger (more than 650 ~ 1000mm2/s), you can consider to select the rotor pump or reciprocating pump. If the viscosity is special big, you can choose high viscosity rotor pump and high viscosity reciprocating pump of a special design.
    (5) If the medium include the gas that it is more than 5%, the flow is smaller and the viscosity is less than 37.4mm²/s, you can choose the vortex pump. If allowing flow has pulsation, you can choose reciprocating pump.
    (6) You should be selected the pump with the self suction performance for starting frequent or irrigation pump disadvantageous situations, such as self suction centrifugal pump, self-priming vortex pump volumetric pump and so on.
