shaft sealing systems

The molten salts pumps shall be equipped with an air injection shaft sealing system. Other types of shaft sealing systems shall be submitted to Purchaser's approval.

A breakdown bushing and gas blanket inside a stilling tube shall be used to isolate molten salt from the atmosphere and for air injection (that provides lubrication to the packing). Molten salt leakage shall be drained back through pipes to the molten salt tank.

The air shall be switched on when pump is started and switched off a few moments after the pump is shut down. An air control panel shall be provided.

All the internal pipes, accessories and associated instrumentation required for shaft sealing shall be included in the scope of supply and shall be mounted on the pump skid.
