The structures supporting the tanks

    The structures supporting the tanks had an octahedral slab of 600 mm thickness and three blocks on the slab. The space that appeared within the concrete blocks was filled up with gravel.
    Two different support structures were installed, one considered the hot mesh (in direct contact with the storage tanks) and the other the cold mesh (in direct contact with the foundations). Both meshes were formed by beams, diaphragms and stiffeners of structural steel ASTM A36. The hot mesh had insulation between the beams to decrease heat losses
