Mode of operation and load changes

The design and construction of the Plant is suitable for both continuous base load operation and intermittent or part load operation, at a constant or fluctuating level.

Each steam turbine generator will usually operate to keep a net electricity production of 100 MWe (nominal load). Reduced load operation may be performed if weather conditions do not allow maintaining the maximum production or salts availability is not enough.
